Dear friends and community members: This spring and summer, I will be doing a fundraiser for the Asian Association of Utah. The AAU is an integral part of Utah's community, offering services such as translation, English, and cultural classes for refugees, and counseling and educational programs for families and youth. They also put on the Asian Festival in Utah for over 30 years. For more info, you can visit the link below: http://aau-slc.org/ To help assist this organization in its works, I will be making gift baskets for a prize auction at The Asian Festival on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Admission is free, and because of this, this will be AAU's only way of making money. For our gift baskets, I am looking for the following items: (Items not purchased are in black. Item which have already been donated are in green.) Restaurant Basket Gift certificates to local restaurants (10-15) - 5 already doanted! Thanks! Still need 5-10. Chocolate Basket Hot chocolate packets (2) - Already donated, thanks! Mugs (2) - Already pledged, thanks! Gift Certificates for chocolates (1-2) Box of chocolates (1) - Already pledged, thanks! Chocolate bars (2) - Already donated, thanks! Hershey’s cookbook (1) Asian Cooking Gift Set Asian Cookbook (1) - Already pledged, thanks! Wok (1) Asian Sauces and Marinades (2-5) - 4 donated, thanks. 0-1 still needed. Gift Certificate to kitchen store (1) Chopsticks (2 sets) - Already donated, thanks! Servingware (1-3) Anime Basket Anime videos (2-3) Anime plush dolls (2) - already donated, thanks! RPG cards (3-5 packs) Ramane drinks (2) Pocky Sticks - Already donated, thanks! Movie Basket DVDs or Blu-Ray Disks, preferably Asian themed (ie Kurosawa or The Cats of Mirkitani) (2-4) - 2 donated, thanks! 0-2 still needed! Gift Certificates to movie theater or video store (2-4) Popcorn (1 pack unpopped, in a tub to pack gifts in if possible.) - Already donated, thanks! Boxed candy similar to one from a theater (2-4) - 1 donated, thanks! 1-3 still needed! DVD or Blu-Ray Player (1) Book Basket Books (As many as possible) - 2 donated, thanks. Need as many as possible. Coffee Beans (1 bag) Biscotti sticks (2) Mugs (2) Gift certificate to bookstore (1) Bookmark (1) Going Green Reusable plastic bags (2-5) Reusable water bottles (2) Low Energy Lightbulbs - Already donated, thanks! Seeds for growing vegetables/herbs (2-5 packs) Houseplant or indoor bulb kit (1) Nonperishable organic foods (2-5 cans) Books on green living (1-2) - 1 already donated, thanks! All items should be new. Because AAU is a non-profit organization, your donation is tax deductible. Note to self: A one dollar donation to the Asian Association of Utah puts your name in the box to win the basket! A twenty dollar donation will put your name in 25 times! |
