1. A giraffe's favorite food is the leaves off of an acacia tree. The leaves are actually covered in thorns!

2. Giraffes can run 35 miles an hour.

3. A giraffe may can live up to 25 years.

4. Giraffes grow 18 feet tall.

5. Many scientists believe that other African herbivores will congregate around a giraffe to take advantage of its ability to spot a predator from a long distance away.

6. A giraffes tongue can grow 21 inches long and is very dextrous and able to pick up objects.

7. A giraffe can go weeks without a drink, and gets most of its water from the plants it eats.

8. Many of the sounds a giraffe makes are inaudible to the human ear.

9. The gestation period for a giraffe is approximately 15 months.

10. A newborn giraffe is approximately 6 feet tall.

11. Giraffes sleep on their feet. This guarantees a quick escape should a predator lurk nearby!

21. The giraffe has the longest tail of any mammal. It can grow 8 feet long.

22. Giraffes have a specialized, highly elastic circulatory system. This prevents the backflow of blood that would cause fainting, should this animal move its very large neck in a hurry.

23. Giraffes naturally reside south of the Sahara, in very dry areas.

24. A giraffe's neck contains only 7 vertabrae.

25. Female giraffes are slightly shorter than males.

I now have a Giraffe PhD. Am I a monarch yet? And when you say monarch, do you mean the ruler or the butterfly? Because I'm fine with either.

Giraffe is a cool animal its not a cruel animal.Its a very nice animal. Also giraffe facts is a very useful to us. Moreover African Giraffe is very popular all over the world.
