Okay, Mr. Picky, here you have it--

You should check out Meat the Vegan because:

a) They have an odd sense of humor (they passed out stickers with pictures of bacon on them at their last show)

b) Noah, singer/guitarist, practically burst a bunch of blood vessels when singing

c) I liked their music, therefore everyone should at least give them a try :)

d) The drummer got so into one of the songs they played that I thought his arms were going to fly off (sorry, don't know the name of the song, they didn't say the name). Okay, not really, but he looked like he was having fun. Actually, they all seemed to like that particular song best, and the crowd was totally into it too. *shrug*

e) They played a show in a little cafe/restaurant/bar in downtown Oly (but, from what I hear, they are from Seattle) called le Voyeur. I'm not sure why that's important, but I thought it worth mentioning.

f) A few of their songs were nearly orgasm-inducing. I had a good time. ;)

Their web page is either Firefox unfriendly or horribly dysfunctional.

Either way, great jams. They definitely, definitely have that "Seattle" sound. Almost like the old-school Mudhoney and Soundgarden from like 1990. Enjoyed it, though!

Also, I don't know if I mentioned this already or not but everyone should go check out "Pandora.com" for new music. You go to the site, create a station, and tell it some of the bands/songs that you like on that station. Based on those preferences, it will try to play things that it thinks you'll enjoy. So far, it's done pretty d*rn good for me. Again, Pandora.com = awesome. Go go go go!

One: I love Pandora! A wonderful invention for music junkies.
Two: I love bands with a sense of humor. Also, I think I've heard of Meat the Vegan before. This is what happnes when you work with vegans %50 of the time.

I think I already plugged Pandora.com earlier :D

Although, it seems to have great difficulty with some of the odd stuff I listen to (in recommendations...just aren't quite right). Oh well. :)

Overall, though, it is fantabulous.

Meat the Vegan's website didn't do so well with IE either, so I think it is a problem on their end. But, I figured you could deal with it.

Call me old fashioned for buying a CD and all, but . . .

The other day, I was browsing a bookstore, when I heard a VIOLIN come over the speaker that was so amazing and untamed that I had to have the music!!! I walked out with the CD. David Garrett.

Check it out. You can hear almost all his stuff on YouTube. AMAZING!!!!!

My favorites are his covers of Smooth Criminal and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I have listened to this CD. It is indeed phenomenal. I'll admit that putting classical music behind pop tunes is cliche, but this guy often COMPOSES the pop stuff into classical. I was impressed. It's different for sure!

Check out Joshua James. Soulful, melodic, honest.
