I'll admit it . . . I'm on what Jay Leno called the "Fat Person's Gym."

I've been using Wii alone to attempt to increase my physical activity, slim down a bit, and tone up a lot.

So far, I've lost about 5 pounds, but can do far more push ups, one arm stands, and lunges than I could before. My balance is better, and I can hold myself in plank position for over a minute (my start time was about 20 seconds).

None of these are major accomplishments, but they make me feel slightly more fit. I can live with that, because my goal from the beginning was "slightly more fit," since I don't think I am morbidly obese, and I hardly feel my diet is atrocious (though I have a horrible weakness for Crown Burger french fries dunked in fry sauce).

I went online tonight, and much to my surprise, there are people who have lost OVER 20 POUNDS on Wii Fit. Amazing. Of course, these folks had a lot to lose, and are still losing, but still, it's pretty cool that people actually ARE getting fit on this thing.

My goal, eventually, is to weigh 100 pounds (BMI 19.5), be able to do 20 push ups, or be able to run for 1 hour without stopping. Any of the above will make me very happy. All 3 will make me very, very happy.

Great work, Ozzy!

I'm a big believer that the single most important element to any fitness program is consistency. As long as you're doing the Wii Fit (or running, or lifting, or skating, or whatever your physical outlet happens to be), you're on your way to accomplishing your goals!

And personally, I think that the Wii Fit is pretty awesome if you follow it. Between the strengthening, the cardio, the yoga, and the balance stuff... it really provides a well-rounded workout!

Of course, if you're like me you lose sight of the fitness stuff and just want to play balance games the whole time. :(

Mad props on what you have done. I wouldn't be discouraged that you're not getting the same results as someone else. After all, everybody's different. Take this into account:

1. You were in better shape to begin with
2. You're exercising at irregular times of the day
3. You're continually at the mercy of eating-out food and/or parents food
4. At the end of the day, you don't look in the mirror and see this:


You're totally a winner in my book!
